These Deep-Fried Cookie Dough Balls have a crispy and golden batter coating and a gooey cookie dough interior. Dust them in powdered sugar for an unbelievable sweet treat.
We are right in the middle of State Fair season which makes me think of all kinds of crazy fried foods, like Deep Fried Peanut Butter Cups.

I’m not sure which I like better- Deep Fried Cookie Dough or Deep Fried Peanut Butter Cups. They’re both so good!
So many sweets taste good deep fried. Even candy corn.

To make Deep Fried Cookie Dough, you start with an easy cookie dough recipe made with butter, flour, baking powder, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and eggs. It’s best if you use pasteurized eggs since the interior doesn’t get fully cooked. You should be able to find them at most grocery stores, but they do cost more.

Once the cookie dough is made, you form it into balls and then freeze it for 1 hour. This helps them hold their shape as they fry.

The partially frozen cookie dough balls are dipped in an easy batter of Bisquick and milk and then fried in vegetable oil until golden brown. Eat while still warm and be sure to enjoy with a tall glass of milk.

- 2
Using an electric mixer, cream butter until light and fluffy.
- 3
Add both sugar and beat until combined well.
- 4
Beat in eggs one at a time, stopping to scrape down sides of bowl at least once.
- 5
Beat in vanilla extract.
- 6
Add flour mixture and mix just until incorporated.
- 7
Fold in chocolate chips.
- 8
Shape dough into balls using about 1 tablespoon for each one.
- 9
Place on a parchment or wax paper lined tray and freeze for 1 hour.
- 10
Pour about 2 inches of oil into a Dutch oven and heat to 350 degrees. I use a thermometer to make sure the oil stays at the right temperature.
- 11
To make batter, whisk together Bisquick and milk in a medium bowl. If too thick, stir in a little extra milk.
- 12
Dip about 4 balls into the batter at a time, leaving the remaining ones in freezer until needed.
- 13
Fry until golden brown and remove to a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining dough balls.
- 14
Serve immediately or keep warm in a 200 degree oven.
